AWARDS AND HONORSCalifornia Science Center — California Scientist of the YearPart of the California Science Center's mission is to increase awareness in new scientific research and achievement. Each year they recognize the accomplishments of an outstanding California scientist through the California Scientist of the Year Award. Since the program began, over 40 scientists from fields as diverse as chemistry, physics, medicine, biology and astronomy have received the award, and eleven of the past winners have gone on to win Nobel prizes.
